How to lay out a home office
A workable home office comes down to putting the desk where the light and outlets are, then arranging storage around it without boxing yourself in. Draw your room to scale, drop in a desk (standard, large, standing, or a custom corner), and line the walls with a bookcase, filing cabinet, or credenza.
Leave at least 36 inches behind the desk so you can push the chair back and stand up, and keep a clear walkway to the door. The planner counts your furniture and shows a live cost range on the right.
